Zappia at a glance

What is Zappia?

Zappia is a TV and video player for Android, Android TV and Google TV. It plays the M3U playlists and Xtream Codes accounts you add: live TV, program guide, movies, series and recordings.

Does Zappia provide channels or subscriptions?

No. Zappia contains, sells, provides and recommends no channels, no movies and no playlists. It is a player, just like a video player: you add your own sources, for which you must hold the necessary rights.

Can you recommend a playlist or a provider?

No, and we will not answer that kind of request. Zappia has no connection with the providers or the content that users choose.

Is Zappia free?

Yes: free, with no ads and no account to create. Zappia Premium unlocks, monthly, yearly or for life, the program guide, recordings, search, favorites, profiles and multiple playlists.

Who makes Zappia?

Zappia is developed and published by G3F Digital, an app studio based in Quebec, Canada.

Devices and installation

Which devices does Zappia run on?

Android phones and tablets running Android 7.0 or later, Android TV and Google TV televisions, and Android TV or Google TV boxes and sticks that have Google Play. See Install Zappia.

What about Fire TV, iPhone or computers?

Zappia is an Android app distributed through Google Play. Amazon Fire TV devices don’t have Google Play, and there is no iPhone, iPad or computer version at this time.

When will Zappia be available?

Zappia is coming soon to Google Play. The install link will be posted on zappia.tv as soon as it’s released.

Do I have to type my credentials with the remote?

No: on a TV, choose Set up from your phone, scan the QR code and type your credentials or your link on your phone. See Enter from your phone.

Using Zappia

Which playlist formats are supported?

Xtream Codes accounts (server, username, password), M3U and M3U8 links, .m3u files, Xtream get.php links and program guides in XMLTV format. Channels are played in MPEG-TS or HLS.

Why aren’t my categories sorted like in other apps?

Zappia deliberately keeps your provider’s names and order. You then choose which countries to put first and, with Premium, the order, the names and what is hidden. See Organize.

Can I pause live TV?

Yes, for free: the program keeps being stored on the device while paused, up to 1 hour by default (adjustable up to 4 hours). See Live pause.

Do recordings work with the screen off?

Yes, as long as you allow exact alarms and, on phones, running without battery optimization. The device must stay on or in standby. See Record a show.

Why is the picture black or stuttering?

Most of the time, the channel is down on the provider’s side, or the decoding doesn’t suit the device. The Troubleshooting guide explains every message and every fix.

How many devices can I use at the same time?

Zappia sets no limit. Your subscription with your provider determines the number of simultaneous connections; Zappia lets you know when it’s reached.

Privacy and security

Does Zappia collect my data?

No. No account, no ads, no analytics or crash reporting tools. Your playlists, profiles and history stay on your device. See the privacy policy.

Are my credentials sent anywhere?

They are only used to connect you directly to your provider’s server. They never go through our servers, and the diagnostics you can share contain none of them.

How do I protect my kids?

Create a parental code: adult groups are locked by default. With Premium, create a child profile, in which those groups don’t appear at all. See Parental control.

Premium

How do I get Premium back on a new device?

Sign in to the device with the same Google account, open the Premium window and select Restore purchases.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Everything goes through Google Play: SettingsZappia Premium opens your subscription management directly. See Manage or cancel a subscription.
