Getting started
From installation to your first channel in a few minutes: create your profile, add your playlist and let Zappia set everything up.

What you need
Zappia is a player: it plays the subscription or playlist that you add. Before you start, keep the details from your provider at hand:
- Xtream credentials: a server address, a username and a password;
- or an M3U playlist link, an address starting with http:// or https://;
- or an .m3u file saved on your phone or tablet.
Step 1: create your profile
The first time you launch it, Zappia asks you to create your profile. It will keep your favorites, your countries and your progress.
- Type your first name in the First name field.
- Optional: under Countries first, tap up to 5 countries, in the order you like (a number appears on each one). Their channel categories will move to the top; the others keep the provider’s order. Tap a country again to remove it.
- Choose Continue.
Step 2: add your playlist
The Welcome! screen offers several ways to add your subscription:
- I have a server, a username and a password: for Xtream credentials;
- I have a list link (M3U): for an http:// or https:// link, or an .m3u file on phones and tablets;
- Set up from your phone (on TVs): to type everything on your phone instead of with the remote.

Step 3: setup
Zappia then downloads your catalog. The Preparing your channels… screen checks off the steps one by one: Connecting to the server, Channels, Movies, Series, TV guide and Stream test. The first time, it can take a minute with large playlists.
The stream test
Zappia plays a few seconds of 2 or 3 channels, with no picture or sound, to choose the decoding (hardware or software) that works best on your device. The test takes less than a minute; the Skip button lets you skip it.
If setup fails
Zappia shows Setup failed and the reason (server not found, credentials rejected…). You have three choices: Try again, Edit to fix the address or credentials, or Continue anyway. The messages are explained in the Troubleshooting guide.
Step 4: watch your first channel
On phones and tablets
- Tap TV in the bottom bar.
- Tap a category, then a channel: it shows as a preview at the top of the screen.
- Tap it again (or tap the preview) to go full screen.
On TV, with the remote
- Choose TV in the left menu.
- Choose a category, then a channel, and press OK: the preview starts on the right.
- Press OK again: the channel goes full screen, without reloading the stream.
In full screen, ▲ and ▼ (or a vertical swipe by touch) switch to the previous or next channel. It’s all explained in Live TV.
